Best way to start off the new lore forums.. an on-going argument!
Ershin and I have been arguing about these for quite some days.. figure I'll bring it here..

Silithids = (Zerg???)
Heres the Proof:
1) WoWMapView shows a silithids hive in the outlands.
2) They fricken look like it.
3) Their homes look like creep.
4) They sorta sound like them.
5) I'm bored.

Oh is that what we were trying to do? Ok then....

In order for your theory to be correct you would have to place Starcraft BEFORE Warcraft. That in itself is an insane idea. On top of that the Zerg are not all bugs, the Zerg share a hive mind where as no Warcraft lore supports that for the Silithids. Do we need to go on because I probably can.

Your proof is close thibbledorf, but slightly off...

Silithids = Insects
Zerg = Immortality

Immortality = Humanoids, therefore the answer is clear.

HAH hoolex. In all seriousness, however, they come from different universes. Now, it does sound cool, and is possibly the Zerg in some form or at a different point in the timeline. Remember, however, that the Terran exist in the Universe with the Horde who are supposed to come from Terra Firma, Terra, Terra Prime, or w/e Blizzard called Earth. So Terran are supposed to be Human?

Now a number of races, including the Burning Legion might be able to string universes together and move between them; but this probably means universe as a physical term as opposed to a body of ideas as Blizzard likely means.

Still any number of plays could be made on the similarity between Silithids and the Zerg, which Blizzard will likely play off of in AQ.

Drawing conclusions that the Zerg are the Silithid would be like assuming that Kerrigan not the Trade Princes' in Undermine lead the Goblins since her picture is in Goblin Shredders.

The Silithid are native to the world of Azeroth and were part of the Insect Empire that fought the Trolls in the past. The warring Troll factions allied and defeated the Insectoid empire which then was driven into 2 seperate areas of Azeroth. The Quiraj who controlled the Silithid were driven south into the barren land of Silithus where they were trapped and sealed into Ahn'Qiraj by the Trolls. And the rest the Nerubians were ran into the northern lands which would later be Northrend with the other city of Azjol'Nerub.

And the Zergs only insectoid creature were the Drones which were Gashyrr Wasp from the planet of Eldersthine. The rest were actual animals that were assimilated from other planets in the universe that were changed to better suit the needs of the growing Zerg.

Got the info on the Drone(and other assimilated races) from: http://www.sclegacy.com/encyclopedia/bestiary.php#g2

Then theres the actual Zerg Storyline: http://www.sclegacy.com/encyclopedia/ra ... ries.php#z

Hows that for someone to argue with, Considering I argue with enough people on the Raid forums when it comes to this games lore lol :p

As for the Silithid Hive in outlands, well I am not sure how to explain that as there are Troll Ruins there also and well the old Troll empire never once entered Outlands as the Dark Portal was opened much later. So I am not sure about that maybe its something Blizzard plans on using for something other then Outlands.
