I just built a new PC for my parents and after assembling it and powering it up the lovely little case buzzer is going off and I get no visible feed to a monitor. The box does power up, all the fans come on lights and the lot. The MOBO has no indicator light which is not cool. I have done quite a few things to diagnose it. I've gone through and disconnected all the fans/HD's/CDROMS, removed the gfx card, removed and swapped the ram and even changed power supplies and the problem still persists. The processor is in correctly and to the best of my knowledge all the wires are in the correct places, I've triple checked them and redone them a few times now. I have reset the CMOS twice the manual way and I basically just want to throw some water on it. The box will just sit there and run, no beeps, no auto power off, no smoke, just that little case alarm buzz. I've checked for crossed power wires or other things that can be causing a short, but there is nothing. I've contacted the MOBO MFGer, but they probably won't get back to me till monday and I have to leave on tuesday so I need this resolved quickly. Any help is welcome. Thanks! |

That sucks. The only time I've ever triggered that cute alarm is when I forgot to connect the power supply to my graphics card once. So I guess my only suggestion is check all of the power connectors from the power supply if you haven't. |

Is the power supply big enough to power it all? |

400 W seems pretty low if your computer is built for gaming, how many Watts is your spare power supply? |

Are you sure its a compatable power supply? Can you provide a more specific list of components, mobo, CPU, powersupply etc? And even for pretty basic components, 400w is pretty low. |

400W is plenty, and the board was bad. I got a new one and it runs like a champion race horse. |
