Guild Wars 2 is almost here.
http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showthread.php?t=480393I already pre-ordered. No closed beta access unfortunately, but have been in all the BWE's.
This one is GOOD. Really good.
The manifesto was practically a laundry list of things that mmos have been doing wrong.
I have not been this excited about a mmo since WoW beta itself.
WvW, no trinity, so immersive, no perma-stealth, no sub fee.
We've had people form Immo guilds in Rift, War, ToR, etc. most don't really last long. Bad games... (Rift was quite good honestly..)
First off, this one is going to fix some of the main problems we've had in those.
Guild is cross server. Rift we had problems with not everyone being on the same server, we split up to follow friends. Or we had people on the wrong faction. Did this a bit on TOR as well.
GW2 doesn't matter. Server only matters for WvW. If I'm on Sorrow's furnace, and you are on Darkhaven. i can chat with you. I can invite you to the guild. I can guest over to Darkhaven, and do pve quests. We can join the same dungeons, we can party up and join a sPvP group(battlegrounds), or even pvp tourneyments. AND you can even be in multiple guilds.
No sub fee. Lack of a sub fee means there is no real reason to quit outright. This should do wonders to keep up attendance, and let people that burned out, or had work, etc, come back when they have the chance.
Right now, I am pretty active on the FoH Board, and was asked to join with them for organized WvW. Probably doing that, don't have a server yet. Was on Sorrow's furnace for BWE's. I don't have the time to form/organize a full Immo guild. and no one was talking about it. So I assume no one else was specifically planning on it yet either? so probably at this point, just make one, for chat/parties among members that do play the game. unless someone does want to step up.
