Well hello and first to introdouce my self. I'm Guild leader(one of two) of EU Dragonblight guild Royal Vanguard. We have been raidning Molten Core for sme months now, but we didnt yet take down Ragnaros since in the mean time we made another MC capable group so now we have 2 groups that raid MC durring the week.
What I was wondering about and since I see you have been long time in MC and BWL is how do you handle loot distribution?
I see you have RPP system as opposed to DKP system thet we are using, but in general principle they have same goal..fair loot distribution.
My question isnt about dkp but about shardin items in those 2 instances.
I will make example so you better understand me.
Lets say you have one player(mage or a druid) that started to go to MC and he is acumulating his points and passing all items that are upgrade to him/her(cenarion, arcanist and some additional items) couse he first wants Staff of Dominance. But after some time all others in his class get items and are almost to full sets, then some items of a set or part that is clearly upgrade for him/her drops that all others in their class have.
He still insists to keep his points for Staff of Dominance and passes item that in the end gets sharded.
Do you approve such actions or do you have some solution couse we are not for bidding on items and lowering point values couse that way can be corrupted also.

I am not from Immo, but I am a GM in a guild in EU Stormscale.

For these circumstances we usually give the item to the player for the minimun bid value ( 20 DKP = 2 bosses worth ) since it is clear an upgrade for him and he is getting it im min DKP.

Usually by the time you get to Golemagg anyway, and start farming for SOD, the 20 DKP ( in our case but you get the sentiment ) will not make the difference in the overall bid, on a item that usually goes for 300+ :)

Also we have Mages/Locks Priority on SOD, and Droods go for Finkles usually.

Yes but we have somewhat different dkp system.
It isnt based on boss kills but on item drops:
x = item value( each item has its own value)
y = number of people in raid
dkp = x/y
and we have tiers: tier 1 = 0-20dkp, tier 2 = 20-40 dkp, tier 3= 40-60 dkp
Top tier is 100dkp+
And to make a picture how much dkp is earned we kill some 4-6 bosses per run and that is around 10-12 dkps.
SOD = 120dkp

ours is a flat system which works out for the best, no silent bidding wars, and no round robin skipping to get it cheap. If you want it, it is there for a value which you can see from our history.

Unless we deem it not worth full rpp, reduce it for the class its not intended for, or given to alts for full rpp. If they would like ot horde their points for an item that has been taken at full price, that is their right.

Our staff of dominance in question is 400rpp (2h weapon standard). A full mc run with no de's will yeild between 120-150rpp or so. If you do BWL(inclucing nefarion), mc, and outdoor bosses you can recover form thart in little over a week.
