EDIT: forgot about the fact the mindblast is a lesser time cast spell (1.5) so it wouldnt take the full effect of the bonus damage. RE calculated as best i could below.

Ok as precursor to all the gear im gonna list...this idea depends on the spec.

I came up with a few different specs, each adding to this build in its own way....a priest that can dish out some serious damage and still heal for insanely powerful amts.

This spec loses 15% of the overall damage from shadowform...but however, you gain more mana in the disc tree and also innerfocus...a nice free 25% to crit spell. I think this is the best way to do it...as w/o the shadowform temptation, you can always heal when needed. The points in the shadow tree can be played with for preference...for instance...i dont have vamp embrace in this spec...you could take a pt out of darkness (lose some damage) and gain vamp embrace.

This spec loses some mana and inner focus from the disc tree...but is the best way to completely max out damage. The only time i see shadowform being used is if you can get the jump on someone and dont want to try to stack some shadow weaving on them. It's got its ups and downs...just depends on preference i guess (i dunno if i could give up inner focus personally:( )

As a final spec im not gonna post, you can play with making smite do more damage by using pts in the holy tree and sacrificing some from disc and holy (you needa t least 10 pts in disc imo or your a stupid priest).

the list....pretty reasonable if the mages and warlocks can deal with us looting some of this someday (i mean someday...i know that nef. hat isnt getting in our hands anytime soon!)

Head: +35 damage&healing
Neck: +18 damage&healing
Shoulder: +34 damage&healing
Back: +17 damage&healing
Chest: +44damage&healing
Bracer: +25 damage&healing
Gloves: +25 damage&healing
Belt: +35 damage &healing
Pants: +66 shadow damage
Boots: +32 damage&healing
ring: +22 damage&healing
ring: +33 shadow damage
trinket: +175 damage&healing
trinket: +280 damage
weapon: +84 damage&healing (+30 damage enchant also?)
Offhand: pick one....all avg around 30 damage (AV offhand...bag of whammies)
wand: +18 damage&healing

Phew...all told its about +903 normal damage (healing in there too) and + 1002 to Shadow alone (due to the pants, etc.)

Some Math Examples:
normal Mindblast = 522.5 +903(0.43) = 952
952(1.1 darkness pts) = 1047
1047(1.15 shadow weaving) = 1204
1204(1.15 shadow form) = 1384BASE DAMAGE
1384(1.5 crit) = 2077 Crits

DOTS would be around 3k damage over 24 sec
so, 375 a tick (thats a rough estimate...i may have calculated that wrong im sorry )

normal smite: 406.5 +903 = 1309
1309(1.1 pts in imp smite) =1440 BASE DAMAGE
1440(1.5) = 2160CRITS

in fact....looking at it now...seems that using smite (having remembered about the mindblast not getting full bonus) would be a better route... ill check it out and post a spec utilizing this idea in a bit!

the math:
normal smite: 406.5 +903 = 1309
1309(1.1 pts in imp smite) = 1440
1440(1.05 pts in force of will) = 1512 BASE DAMAGE
1873(1.5) = 2268 CRIT

That would be awesome if that would only be allowed for people in our guild, however I would be pissy if I had to fight some horde priest with that build . HACKS! =)

mind blast doesnt get the full 100% bonus from +dmg gear.

I'm pretty sure darkness only affects base damage, not damage from gear while shadow weaving does both. Not sure about shadowform.

Edit: And besides that, I dont know that they compound each other. IE is it 1+ 0.1 + 0.15 + 0.15 = 1.4 or 1.1*1.15*.15 = 1.45 ?

The hakkar trinket isn't 560 damage, that's healing. It only does 280 dmg.

Are these pvp based damage builds? Just wondering as you didn't take any deaggro talents.

Dellusional Power gloves are 27, not 25. (ebony flame gloves give 43 shadow)
Drape is 14, not 17. (broodlord does more damage)
Choker of the Fire Lord does more damage (or even orb of the darkmoon)
