I guess I always wondered when the time would come that I'd actually make one of these posts, and what I'd actually say when I did so.
However, I guess there just comes a point in everyones life, where you need to make decisions, weigh out options and just go with your gut instinct on things. I guess even though I'm unsure, this is one of those times. After having spoken AT LENGTH about this with a number of people, ive made this decision (not exactly an easy one haha)
For quite some time I've played this game and definitely enjoyed it...but have used it as a way to push aside all the other random things in my life that bother me. For one, I dont like my major at college...and i made a wrong choice in coming to school for what I did. I have this big "final project" also due in this major...a thesis if you will...and i havent nearly put in the amount of effort all year into it as i should have...so i kinda need to make up for that.
In addition, as im sure everyone knows, this thing eats up ALOT of time...especially when you get really into to it as i have. some of that time i feel I shoulda spent more doing my music...reforming another band...or maybe getting out there and getting a girlfriend ( yeah...i said girlfriend you asshats)
I'm just at a point in my life, where i dont know what i want or need. I need to worry about finsih up school, getting a job...getting out on my own a bit more...things like that...and i dont want to be tied to game as these choices and decisions need to be made. Unfortunately, I just dont see being "casual" an option really....mainly due to the fact that I know I would get roped back into the nightly raids etc.
So, with that said, Im turning the account over to Lejis, my cousin. And my password will be shared with Gunsmoke and Victoria as to be able to use my guy as a bank alt, tailor / enchanter (though i think divided amongst everyone all the enchants are still within the guild)
Now, that aside.
This is definitely one of the hardest things I've had to do. I just said about spending my time doing "other things" but to be honest....you cant put a price on friendship, and I wouldnt have traded in my time playing for anything else. I've met some simply amazing people, and have had the pleasure of actually being able to meet some of you and kick back, shoot the shit, and have a few laughs. And for those I didn't get a chance to meet, well, you're all still amazing people. From the stupidest jokes to the constant harassing me haha, it all just one big ball of fun. In truth, and I know others share this exact feeling with me, we definitely have formed some sort of family...though im not sure whos the real mother...gunsmoke or hulex haha (ive met both in person....guns is definitely a hot girl.) Even when the game would lull, or get a little boring...it was always the people that would keep me coming back. I'm telling you now, Ill never look at that cross (tabard) and not think of you guys and the family type environment that we have in this guild.
And honestly, I couldn't be happier you guys enjoyed some of the music i've played for you all. You really have no idea how much it means to me when some of you say "oh i love this lyric" or "oh i have you on my ipod". There is NO greater compliment you can give a musician than that...and for that I honestly thank all of you, you've truly been an inspiration.
So with that, I'll take with me some great memories, some great times, and hopefully, some great friends. I can only hope that I haven't let anybody down in my time here, and have hopefully given some of you some great memories and friendship to carry with ya. In time, if things calm down, if i can get my life really on track the way i want it to be, and if Lejis is willing to part with the priest i've passed onto him haha, maybe i'll be back to play....even if to just LOLLERBONK you asshats or sing a quick song in TS. GAH, didnt even make it to patch 1.10 huh!?!1 I guess I'll have to postpone my AOEing VC with you for a bit Arathil
To the priests especially - thank you, the respect you guys have given me since I came into the position has been nothing short of amazing. You are by far, one of the greatest groups of people ( and talented players nonetheless) this game has to offer. I wish you nothing but the best.
I'll sincerely miss each and every one of you. If you're ever in the Boston area, you damn well better get in touch with Me Prel or Lejis.
