Looks like you got about the same PC strength that I do. The external HD is highly recommended. It will maintain your in game performance a lot better. Also, when you start recording, you can expect about a 50% frame rate loss, depending on the quality settings you have, but nothing you can't live through for recording.

Lastly, I'd register even tho it costs money. If you don't, you'll be limited to 30 second videos with a fraps logo on it, and not much settings control.

Same as me too, well stock that is. I have a 4600+ but i overclock each core by roughly 300mhz. I could push it more but I'm lazy in doing stability tests. I can give you the software if you are unable to be a pirate this Halloween per say.

You will be fine on performance, just make sure you are not in windowed mode as that will rape anyone. Also while you could record high quality this is very demanding on storage. I have boss kills that are 4gb big in some cases. So if you plan on uploading/ sharing any of your vids it's better to make it half size anyways. If you have any specific questions or if you would like a hacked retail copy ask further.

1. I've seen videos from bosskillers that are of average quality (the majority) and I've seen a small handful that are of very high quality (almost as if you were looking at your own UI) and there wasn't a big difference in file size. How? Are they recording at high quality in Fraps and then somehow compressing it further while maintaining the high quality?

2. Yes, I'd like the software. If it's a crack, I can just download the program from their site and you can email me the crack to chris.trost@gmail.com

It's a compression, there is a lot of different software out there to change the formats and compress the video. Also taking out the game sound and adding shitty quality music can cut out some space too. I don't really mess with compression cause i don't share a lot of my videos but i'll look into it for you if i have time after my exam tomorrow.

I am not in the mood to buy sony vegas or anything else. I am lazy and use Windows Movie maker and I think I make some of the best videos for using such a basic tool.

If you want to get vegas or DivX or some high quality editing software your videos can look that much better and retain that much more quality.

Also posting videos on YouTube and what not also makes the video's look worst. After I make the original file you can see what people are typing and whispering to me. Which is one of ther reasons I stopped letting people download my movies and started hosting them on YouTube.
