What do you mean saturated? There isn't a limit to how many posts are allowed. Performance wise the site will still be the same if you move the old forums to the new site!!!

Nobody will browse old.immortalityguild.com just move the old posts to the new forum!

Maybe he wants to start fresh and keep the site on track with progression into WOTLK. Make it easier to find the posts with helpful information and not just random shit typed out to increase ones post count.

I'm not anti troll but if I was to start fresh with a new website system going into a new expansion then I would want it to attract potential recruits who came upon the site. While there is no post limit you fuckers have never had to backup the database to fix errors, it takes awhile because of all the posts and having to back up multiple times while tweaking the site so you don't fuck it up is a pain in the ass. With moving to a new system and installing a new DKP system into the database it will be much smoother starting with a fresh database.

While the forums will transfer over there will be some things that won't play nice. You'd be moving from a highly customized version of phpbb2 to a modded version of phpbb3. phpbb2 plus had a lot of filler that the phpbb3 stargate portal does not have. It may seem to be just text that you are transferring but the tables for the database aren't the same and may cause headaches down the road.

For the trolls worried about thier post counts, just look at it as a challenge to start fresh. There will be no headstarts so everyone will be equal to prove who can take the title of top Immo Troll.

Hey the new site looks great but I do really like having the old posts around and I know I will not go to old.immortality.com. I am not saying that because I wanna keep my post count (mine never got high to begin with) I just think there are a good bit of important things in the old posts that I don't want to see fade away.
