Explain why you enjoy playing your class. How long have you been playing the class you are applying with and do you have any experience playing other classes/specs? Give two examples of specific situations in which you shine on your class.

I like shamans mostly cause they are unique and adaptable, even with the “class unification” that came with cataclysm, shamans still posses the biggest amount of buffs of all classes, and until recently they were the only class capable of using Heroism/Bloodlust. Aside from that I like resto shamans (And elemental to a lesser extend) cause they can fill many roles with the same gear and talent spects, I can switch from a raid healer to a tank healer, or go use my mastery to help the lowest party members survive the fight. I have played my shaman as resto since I came back to wow like a year ago, in the last 3 months, I started going Elemental on some fights because of the lack of range DPS on my previous guild. I don’t really have experience with other classes, I do have played 85 mages, DKs and druids mostly for fun on PVP (Don’t know if that counts) As for other spects, as I said before I have a little experience on Elemental but really never tried Enhacement.

From my personal experience, I believe I shine mostly when multi-tasking, in my previous guild most of the time I was raid healer, tank healer (To a lesser extend), interrupter and dispeler, most of the time I did fine with all 4 at the same time, I also believe I shine when it comes to priorities, I know when to save my mana and when to spam everything, and I try to fill every non-healing moment with some LB’s to help that management

Are you competent in playing other specs within your class? Do you have off spec gear?

Mostly Ele, my DPS is not sky High, but my item lvl isn’t either, I’ve done most of BOT and BWD fights (except for Cho and Nef) as Ele, and my gear is mostly the same gear I use for resto (Recycling FTW) with the right reforge and some small changes, I just need to get some trinkets (Using a heroic and a non-heroic ATM)

I also have some Enh gear, almost a full set, but I really suck at enh, guess it is because I’ve never really took the time to learn it, but it’s never too late to try right XD?

What alts do you actively play, at least over level 80.

None, I tend to focus on one and only one character, if I level another character to 85 it’s either because I want it’s professions or cause I’m switching for good

Experience

Provide a link to a World of Log for cataclysm content. At the very least provide a damage meter for a dummy under the following conditions: 5 minutes long, any standard raid buffs you would like, and include the breakdown of your damage as well as the overall damage done. Do not skip over this.

What raiding guilds have you been a part of? Why did you leave?

I’ve only been in destruction, as soon as I started raiding, most of my friends were already in there so, why not?. I decided to leave because the guild leader started treating us like “workers”, we couldn’t miss raid nights, we HAD to carry people trough the old content, and took more than 3 weeks to try Shannox (And the guild just gave up on the second wipe), I don’t mind carrying but I do mind people disrespecting me (or my friends for that matter) so, we decided it was time to find a better guild.

What is your raiding experience? Please be as specific as possible and include content from Vanilla to current.

I played a little during the end of BC, did a couple of dungeons on a hunter and I believe one or two attempts at Kara, had to quit because of College tho, and came back like a year ago just for the end of Wotlk, as a resto shaman, I did all the Wotlk content (except for Ruby sanctum) got a my share of failures on ICC, and for cata, I’ve done all non-heroic BOT, BWD and Totfw, also did a Heroic Halfus kill and last night did a Shannox and Beth’ilac with some of you guys

Personal Information

My name’s Santiago Rodriguez, I’m 21 years old live on Venezuela, hate my president and have an addiction for Coke, Pepsi and that sort of stuff. I study Electronic engineering at the Simon Bolivar university

Tell us about yourself. What other games do you enjoy?

Well, I’ve played a lot of other MMORPG and online stuff, from Runescape (Yeah, I know, but when you PC only runs windows 2000, your gaming options are REALLY limited) to stuff like gunbound and League of Legends. I have played videogames all my life, Zeldas, Metal Gears, Mass effects, and all that, with my favorite being Paper Mario (Sorry, that thing is just waaaaaaay too funny)

Why do you enjoy raiding? What keeps you playing this game?

Have to say, I’m not sure why I keep playing wow, most of my friends play and its really boring to play games alone, plus, wow is one of those games in which your abilities DO matter so I feel it’s like some kind of test. I like raiding because it’s the best cooperative game you’ll find out there, yes it gets frustrating some times, but is also rewarding when you finally take down that ugly $%&#, it’s the most fun team game I’ve ever played for sure

Immortality raids 4 days a week Monday through Thursday from 8pm-12pm EST. Does this work for you? How about when school starts?

I doesn’t have any problem with that BUT sadly, I’m pretty sure that when College starts ill have to miss some days or find a way to survive, not really sure if I’ll be able to make it all 4 days but for the moment I can confirm at least 2 (Mondays and Wednesdays). Aside from that, I’m not going to lie about this, College tends to get really rough the last 2 weeks of every trimester, so if things start to go wrong I’m most likely going to have to stop for those weeks in order to survive College

What do you believe you can contribute to Immortality?

A fatty shaman that has a strong desire for progression and that’s good at following orders XD. I’m also a quick learner and have no trouble to help others when needed.

Are you able to handle, at times, harsh constructive criticism?

As long as it is “constructive” and not “destructive”, send it my way.

What are your computer specs? Internet connection? Please post a link from http://www.speedtest.net

My PC is an Asus k61lc, 2.1GHz core 2 duo processor, 4gb ram memory and a geforce gt220M (1gb) video card

What is the best way to contact you?

Ingame most likely, if not, just talk to any of the other Venezuelans, they will contact me easily

Tell us a joke!

Two cannibals are eating a clown, one turns and asks the other “does this tastes funny to you”?

I am going to some similar questions that I asked para! Again I am not an officer, however, I am someone who does care a great deal about this guild. A lot of these people are my friends and I want them to be successful, and I want them to have guildies that they can be proud of.

Just so that you know I like the Peruvians better!!! But very well thought out app and I feel the desire to ask you some questions.

1. Joining a guild is sometimes "difficult" , there are so many new people to meet, hopefully you will meet some like minded people here. Sometimes it prudent to do start something different to benefit the guild? Would you be interested in leading something? If you were what would you do?
2. PvP??? Why U No Like? (God I hate myself for writing like that)
3. What is your opinion of Achievement points?
4. What is your favorite fight all time? And why?
5. In 60000 characters or less (limit of the message body) explain what needs to be changed about the Shaman class, is it overpowered? if so how would you nerf it, is it underpowered? then how would you improve them?
6. Do you have any interest in the lore of the game, if you do who is your favorite character?
7. You are part of a group application, what if one of your friends does not make it? Does this impact your interest in Immortality?

Best of luck to you!

Stalyx

Thnx! so, for my answers:

1) Well, i gotta admit I'm not the "friendliest" guy around, but I'm no orc either, I'll go to whatever i get invites to and will try to do more than raiding (I always liked non-arena PVP, maybe its a good time to try Rated BG's as a way to meet ppl). As for leading stuff, I'll have to pass on that one, I"m no leader, I don't like to lead, I'd much rather be in the group and give my opinion when i feel its prudent to do so, but, I think I could lead some 10m to do BWD or BOT normal modes or anything I have already killed a couple times if needed.

2) I do like PVP, used to do normal BG's until I got tired of frost mages and frost DKs wtfpwning me (Pre 4.2 ele shamans needed some love), I don't like healing in PVP and I'm terrible at Enh so, if I can't go Ele, I mostly wont do PVP

3) From an objective perspective I'd say is some tool implemented by blizzard to make people play more and find something to do in Wow aside from the normal PVE and PVP content, from the normal guy perspective I'd say that if you don't take them too seriously and do them because you want to, they can be really interesting, and from a players perspective, I'd say that my purple proto-drake looks AWESOME

4) Gunship Battle, I really can't think of something so epic as two flying ships fighting each other on a glacier at the middle of nowhere while some maniac with an army of rotting corpses and an awesome sword is sitting on its throne mutilating some half-burned guy, I mean, not even in my little pony you'll find that kind of stuff!

-5) Among the Venezuelans, I'm famous cause I qq the most XD, especially about Shamans, I do think resto shamans are a bit nerfed, shamans do well in tight groups when I can just use FI and HR to keep the raid up, and when I'm sure my CH will get all possible targets, but in 10m or when the fights need a lot of movement (Thus making HR difficult to use because of the cast+static effect) I feel like there is no way for me to catch up to other healers. As for the solution, well I'm no designer and chances are, most of what I have said is just qqing, but my solution would be to either a) Fix the long cast times for most spells, that way we could use less haste and more mastery/crit and will not suffer so much specially on movement intensive fights or b) Make direct spells more attractive or useful, having more mechanics like resurgence, or fixing unleash life (Pretty useless IMHO)

-6) I find warcraft lore sometimes too bitter, and sometimes i feel it just got killed by capitalism (GO GO Socialism XD), I'm no loremaster and most of the time I don't read lore unless I'm really really REALLY interested. My favorite characters in the game are by far Jack Bauden and Horatio Laine XD, nah for real, I really haven't investigated any character enough to call it my favorite

-7) I said it in my aplication, we are friends and we play together, playing something like Wow alone is really boring, so yes, if some of my friends didn't made it into Immo it would surely affect me, not gonna start making a fuss about it but I would try to help them get in by any means I could, we all left destruction together and would be really nice to be all together in the same guild again

How stable is your internet? Because if you're internet is shit, honestly its not going to work. IF you laggout you wipe the raid in this tier of content.

Well, as far as I know my connection is pretty stable, I do get random DC's like everyone else from time to time (Like once a month), but I wont go DCing like mad during a raid if that's your question

I'm all for giving him a shot. Message an officer for an invite.
