How long have you been playing the class you are applying with and do you have any experience playing other classes/specs? Give two examples of specific situations in which you shine on your class. Level 85 Resto Shaman with Enhancement offspec. Both specs have 360 ilvl. I am currently 6/7 on FL. I used to be a Core Raider in Immortality about a year ago with my rogue: Tragicrogue. I took a break from WoW for a little bit and just came back 2 weeks ago. Within that 2 weeks, I got a Resto Shaman to level 85 and within the past week, leveled him to a 360 ilvl and got as much experience as I could in FL content. No HM attempts thus far. I know how to raid and pull my own weight (obviously, was a core raider for you guys before), and think I'd be a great addition to the current Immo team. I like playing a Resto Shaman because I enjoy the responsibility. If you have good healers and good tanks (knowledgeable), you can usually work your way through a raid fairly easy, even with ill-experienced DPS. I have been playing this class for 2 weeks now (since I've been back), but I played for a few months at level 80, prior to my break from WoW. I have a large amount of experience playing as a Rogue and a Hunter, aside from my Shaman experience. I notice that I shine most as a tank healer, and even when on raid healing...I shine by being able to keep up a tank at the same time. Greater Healing Wave is the most powerful single heal in the game at the moment, and I am the Healer who always keeps the tank up in the "oh shit" moments during progression. I would transfer back to Skullcrusher, given the opportunity to be in Immortality again. Are you competent in playing other specs within your class? Do you have off spec gear? Yes, I was originally a Enhancement Shaman at level 80 and have great knowledge in that spec as well. 360 ilvl in Enhancement spec. What alts do you actively play, at least over level 80. I do not play any alts that are at least over level 80. I am working on getting my Druid Tank to 85 as we speak. Please provide a UI screenshot. Not on my personal computer right now with access to my WoW account, but my UI is the standard UI w/ Heal Bot and DBM. I don't like a lot of clutter on my UI because I believe that interferes with healing given certain situations. Experience Provide a link to a World of Log for cataclysm content. At the very least provide a damage meter for a dummy under the following conditions: 5 minutes long, any standard raid buffs you would like, and include the breakdown of your damage as well as the overall damage done. Do not skip over this. I am a Resto Shaman and am applying for that particular position. I do not currently have any charts of my DPS offspec. Also, as mentioned above... I am not on my personal computer with access to World of Warcraft. What raiding guilds have you been a part of? Why did you leave? I was part of Immortality's core raiding groups for over a year. I left due to schooling and not being able to keep up with a 5 day raiding schedule each week along with school work. I already got my initial degree and school is much easier now. I have more than enough time to raid. What is your raiding experience? Please be as specific as possible and include content from Vanilla to current. Well, being a part of Immortality during LK content, I progressed with Immo during Sarth and 3D, Naxx 10/25, Ulduar 10/25 with all Hardmodes and a few random raids here and there with you guys. During my stay with Immo, we were basically progressing through Ulduar normal and then through all hardmodes until we got our drakes. Currently, I have 6/7 FL experience with no HM experience. I am more than capable though. Personal Information Tell us about yourself. What other games do you enjoy? Currently, I play World of Warcraft and Call of Duty: Black Ops. I am going to school to obtain my Masters in Music Performance & Education. 23 years old. I am a Reef Aquarium hobbyist and have multiple salt water tanks with corals, tropical fish and more. Why do you enjoy raiding? What keeps you playing this game? I like the logistics of raiding. I enjoy the difficulty of assembling 25+ people and preparing for a raid. I also love progressing and working through different styles and techniques on getting content behind us. Raiding keeps me playing this game...as well as the social aspect. You meet a lot of good (and bad) people in this game. Immortality raids 4 days a week Monday through Thursday from 8pm-12pm EST. Does this work for you? How about when school starts? I am currently in school and those raiding times work just fine for me. What do you believe you can contribute to Immortality? Great healing and a cooperative and friendly personality. I don't rage or anything like that. I enjoy progression for what it is....progression. I am a very reliable raider and made at least 95% of all Immo raids when I was in the guild. Are you able to handle, at times, harsh constructive criticism? Yup, that is how you better yourself as a player! What are your computer specs? Internet connection? 1) Thoughts on the T13 bonuses as they stand for Resto? (2 and 4 piece) As a 2 piece set (After using Mana Tide Totem, the cost of your healing spells are reduced by 25% for 15 sec.), I think it needs to be something that is used more often, personally...but I will use it to my advantage when most needed. As a 4 piece set (Increases the duration of Spiritwalker's Grace by 5 sec, and you gain 30% haste while Spiritwalker's grace is active.), I believe it is a great addition that needs to be tied to something more along the lines of Natures Swiftness. If it gets changed for the better, I'll be thrilled....if not, I will get used to it. 2) Explain why you chose to allocate your talent points the way you did. I believe it to be the best route when trying to have high numbered heals while being able to regenerate and maintain as much mana as possible. Once my ilvl is in the 370's, I will remove Ancestral Swiftness and replace that with Telluric Currents, as the mana regen I would gain using lightning bolt would be rather significant during downtime in certain boss encounters. This is a greatly overlooked talent that will prove very useful to the raid given the right ilvl. 3) Why the nightmare tear in your relic? Why the 40 spirit gem in your belt buckle socket? The nightmare tear AND the relic were temporary, and given the nerf to FL and me just pugging all of my raid spots, I was saving up for the 378 relic replacement. As for the spirit gem in my belt buckle socket, I wanted the socket bonus as well as the extra spirit where I could get away with it. I won't focus my gems too much on Spirit anymore, once I hit 2100 spirit...but I am around 1900 so I want to be as close as possible, especially while in pugs (most healers are rather fail). 4) List the secondary stats in order of singular stat weight, strongest to weakest, in your opinion. For 10-mans (where my experience lies at the moment), I believe resto shaman stats should go: Intellect > Spirit > Crit > Haste (to it's break point) > Mastery. I believe Haste to be important up to its break point and only up to that. I find Crit more important than Haste because the more haste I have, the more mana I will burn. The more crit/int I have....the less heals I need to make to be efficient at my duty. Spirit is a given. 5) Explain which two trinkets you would use and the situation in which they would be used in. http://www.wowhead.com/item=60233 http://www.wowhead.com/item=62050 http://www.wowhead.com/item=68926 http://www.wowhead.com/item=64645 http://www.wowhead.com/item=68983 I would choose the Eye of Blazing Power and Darkmoon card: Tsunami, personally. Eye of Blazing Power because it is an offensive trinket and I don't feel I need 2 regen trinkets to make it through a boss encounter. Tsunami because it will basically be giving me an extra 450 spirit at all times, which is a great regen trinket to have. 6) Which is the least desirable haste rating to have out of these 3: 920, 2008, 1793? Please explain your reasoning behind your choice. 2008 because that is the highest option over the haste soft cap of around 915-935. I currently have around 1200 so I am going to either A.) get new boots with a higher ilvl or B.) resocket and re-enchant my current boots to another stat. |

Must have missed this at first glance, but you have the mastery enchant on your shield rather than int >_>. On the topic of the spirit gem, it's filling a prismatic socket. Your reasoning behind why you chose to put that gem in that socket makes no sense given that tidbit of info =/. For 10m, and for 25m really, you don't need Blessing of the Eternals. I would rethink dropping points from ancestral swiftness once you get more gear unless you plan on putting mastery/run speed on your boots. The additional movement speed is a real plus to have in alot of FL encounters. If you're able to get used to the play style, investing points into Focused Insight is a very good idea. Final comment about your spec would be that you put point into Cleansing Waters. Next to no use in a raiding scenario. Your answer to the haste rating question is incorrect. 2008 haste rating is 3 rating over the breakpoint for a 9th riptide tick (if glyphed). Odd that you chose NOT to "use" Shard of Woe seeing as how its quite possibly the most amazing healing trinket ever created. /endrant Edit: MMMMM I love the smell of a bbq. |

Yeah, I missed the fact that I had a mastery enchant on there as well, and it will turn to Int. As for the prismatic socket, I used the standard spirit gem due to it being temporary and I had multiple gems at my disposal, and did not want to spend the extra gold on a prismatic gem for something I would be replacing rather quickly. I actually have the new relic and gems for it, I just haven't equipped them yet (bought before last log off). I put a point into cleansing waters because I have been pugging my raids since I've been level 85, and it seems that NO pugs can cleanse and do their main job at the same time...so I am always in charge of doing so. Within a "pro" raiding guild, these talents would be useless...you are correct. As for movement speed, I've never had an issue with healing through FL and I never turn into ghost wolf. Maybe I'm just quick on my feet? (-_-) Focused Insight is a useful talent, but I think a little overboard when I want to add Telluric Currents into my rotation of talents. As for the haste rating...I cannot find anything pertaining to a 2005 hit rating being a break point. I've used MMO and ElitistJerks and have always found the advice of 915-935....but I haven't been level 85 for very long at all, so I haven't searched as much as I could. Great to know though! Where can I find info on this? Thanks for the criticism, it is more than welcome in this type of situation. I hope my response cleared up some of your doubts. Also, I am not hesitant on learning new things pertaining to my class, or taking advice from other Resto Shamans in the guild. The more info the better. I'm not sure on this whole BBQ thing... |

True on the Ghost Form, I didn't think about 25 mans and Heroic modes...I haven't been introduced to that in Cata yet! I would definitely take your advice and try it out for those prior to removing talent points. I used the reduced/cost talent points due to the fact that I had to use it multiple, multiple times and I wanted to take advantage over the saved mana. I think I meant "better" gem rather than prismatic gem, hahaha. Don't know where that came from. Good to know about RT gaining another tick for reaching 2005, I'll look into it and see if it is something I would enjoy doing. I don't mind the probing and prodding...as long as it is FULL homo, and none of that partial shit. |
