lol its a square-enix game... i like it a lot, but it's not like WoW in a sense that you can log on and accomplish something in 5 min. I once spent 2 weeks trying to get a party on my samurai.... Not too long ago (like a week ago) on front page yahoo news there was a report on an 18 hour boss fight on FFXI.... thats... fuking hard core lawl. I was in an HNMLS back on midgardsormr and i remember logging on at certain times to tag an HNM within a 3 day window of a 1 and a 1/2 month spawn time from the last time it was killed... so for those 3 days, people are logging on to take over other peoples SHIFTS to camp a monster!!!! its good if you have a lot of time on your hands.... 70% or so of the people who played never made it to the lvl cap (75)... at lvl 50 you had Genkai (meaning an obstacle to overcome in order to get the next 5 lvls) so at 50, 55, 60, 65, 70 you had to complete quests in order to advance.. and oh ya, NOTHING in that game can be accomplished alone.... you cant even solo mobs that are WAYYY below ur lvl.... you need a party to lvl up, and sometimes it would take hours to even set up a party.. thats not including the time it takes to get to your pull spot... wow i dont wanna get started about that... i left because the game was so gear dependant. Plain and simple.. if you didnt have the gear, you weren't the best. grrrrr the memories... the thing is... you can tell a fellow gamer your a lvl 70 in WoW and its a "big deal, any Neanderthal with half a brain can hit that" but when you say you have a 75 toon on FFXI they like.. "wow your a fukin freak" LAWL |
