Many I'm sure are interested in a quest writeup, so here's a brief one.

This quest begins when you loot either the Right or Left half of the Bindings of the Windseeker, which drop of Baron Geddon and Garr in Molten Core. Upon looting one of these, you must travel to Silithus and talk with the Highlord Demetrian, who will then give you the Vessel of Rebirth, which will start the quest.

What is required to complete this quest?

Right Half of Bindings of the Windseeker
Left Half of Bindings of the Windseeker
Essence of the Firelord- Quest drop from Ragnaros
10x Elementium Bar

Highlord Demetrian will guide you to an NPC in Winterspring, who will tell you of a Goblin named Krixix who was swallowed up by a rift in the earth while meddling with the mysteries of Elementium. It is he who holds the secrets!

Krixix is located in Blackwing Lair, of course. Elementium ore drops random off the goblins in BWL as well. So, what’s needed to make a bar of elementium?

1x Elementium Ore
3x Elemental Flux
1x Firey Core
10x Arcanite Bar

Multiply that by 10 for the total amount of bars needed and you’re looking at a huge expense.

After gathering all the items needed, return to the Highlord Demetrian in Silithus and summon Thunderaan. Rather than gain his blessing, he’s evidently rather angry after his imprisonment, and you must defeat him. After defeating him, you loot the Dormant Wind Kissed Blade and have the now Groveling Demetrian give you Thunderfury, Blessed Sword of the Windseeker.

Easy enough? Right?

For those of you wondering, the proc rate appears to be around 30% or so after some initial testing.

Update-

The AE debuff does not break CC, and the debuff works on BWL bosses. The DD is single target.

Some screenshots of Thunderean himself. He seemed like a wimp and his HP went down super fast, but that might of had something to do with half the server being present and beating on him.

Is this the first known legit Thunderean summon/kill and retrieval of the legendary sword?

Those are a couple SS I took, surrounded by horde and all.

Grats Wray on your sweet new weapon! After all the farming for those arcanite bars, it finally paid off. I think you're going to have a trail of people following you now... have fun with that! <3

Is the "Dormant Wind Kissed Blade" only lootable by the person who has completed the bindings quest?

Or is it possible for a player to complete summonning quest, and another one to get the blade? This sounds like it is the case, reading "This item begins a quest" on the Dormant blade...

Only the person who completes the bindings quest will be able to see and loot the Dormant Blade.

Hope this helps.

Grats for getting Thunderfury!

I'll have 2 questions about this:

Does Thunderaan drop any other loot?
Does the quest stop after killing Thunderaan? Because some GM said that Thunderfury wouldn't be actual reward from that quest-

Thanks.

Thunderaan drops nothing but the Dormant Blade.

The dormant blade starts another quest "Rise, Thunderfury" which results in Thunderfury.

So technically, that GM's statement was correct, but in a typically blizzard sort of way.

thought i am sure many others must've congratulated u already
but i wanted to congratulate u guys again, because this is such an impressive task to complete

and i have quite a few questions about the quest that i wanna ask
i hope u wont find it troublesome =/

our guild already got the Left half of the binding, and Essence of Firelord
we are still lacking the Right half of binding and elementium bars

how long did it take for the other half of binding to drop for u guys after u got the initial binding? its been quite a while after we got our left binding, and we still dun have the right binding dropping yet....so just wondering =P

and also, our guild did not take any serious attempt on BWL yet, and i am wonder how far in BWL will u find the goblin NPC that will teach u how to smelt elementium bar? and after u learned the skill can u smelt it anywhere u want? or just in BWL?
and about how often does the Elementium Ore drops?

i know it is quite a lot of questions to ask
but i'd just want to get a picture of whats still ahead for the legendary quest so we know wat to expect

thank u so much and sorry for the trouble
XD

Greetings, congratulations on the blade, i got both bindings myself ^^.
you are talking about a NPC the highlord will guide you too, been down there, talked to him, but he dont guide me anywhere. When did he guide you, after you got both bindings or first after you got the essence of the firelord?. else where is that damn npc, and what is his name?

Regards Edaragor - 60 troll warrior - skullcrusher (eu)

NPCs involved in this quest are as follows.

Highlord Demetrian - Silithus: He directs you to another elf that can be found in Darkwhisper Gorge in winterspring.
Winterspring Elf - (Forgot his name offhand...): He is very vague about the whereabouts of Krixix, the sole mortal with the knowledge to forge Elementium. With this NPCs location and what he said it's easy to come to the conclusion that he's in the raid instance right near him that hasn't been opened yet (hence the heavy doors right in front of the portal...) but this is not the case. Krixix is in Blackwing Lair being held captive by one of the bosses there, I believe the 5th one...

Anyway, back to the original topic... Grats on Thunderfury man! I've got both bindings and the essence of the firelord on Lightning's Blade (Tauren Warrior here...) and as my guild gravitates towards BWL, I hope to be the second to get it ever in the US. I'm very near my total of 100 arcanite, so really all that needs to be done is the BWL stuff... hopefully in a month or two you guys will see me strutting around with it too. :D
