When random guilds started posting "just got to chromaggus yesterday, downed him today with no deaths, woot us." we knew something was up.
Not much to say except that we still stand firm that this encounter is still impossible if Chromaggus did not do LOS checks. As it stands, Chromaggus in his current form is about 2% different from his pre-fixed form. The only difference is you pull him about 40 more yards back to avoid his attacks. Is this encounter working as intended? We think not, if it is, shame on the development team for making one of the last bosses in the games hardest dungeons, trivial. Why did we kill him? Why the hell not, this dungeon is still in its beta phase, and without guilds exploring every single corner of it, it will never be tuned properly. This announcement is not an announcement of our progress, we have killed Chromaggus before this fix was put in, but this post is rather to express our viewpoints on the encounter, show what is wrong with it, and hope that Blizzard will tune this boss properly, we have submitted a fraps of the fight, with details to the development team in hope that it will aid them in some way.
Yes, we will contine to kill him, but to brag about this like it is some sort of accomplishment is absurd, and I am ashamed of the unNAmed guilds that posted this kill on the Raid and Dungeon forums expecting a pat on the back for a kill this cheesy, because in his current form, Chromaggus is just one big VENDING MACHINE.
Here is what we got out of the Vending Machine last night:
