Immortality

So far, this weapon is very mysterious... there are many obscure in game references to it, moreso than the other legendary weapons, to my knowledge...

-The prince in DM, which you mentioned.
-Caretaker alen outside of LHC mentions it.
-It's mentioned in a grey fishing book that drops in AV.
-A gm equipped it on test server at some point and it was linked to allakhazam, so we know the stats of the weapon, but not the proc rate.

Due to this being a higher tier weapon than thunderfury, and presumably much harder to obtain (possibly requiring far more than just defeating nefarion for a questline or something), and that it has no stats other than the proc, i'm personally guessing that the proc rate is pretty high... like say 20% or higher. But, what if it procs at a 30% clip, a la thunderfury... it IS called ashbringer, so i'm guessing whoever you fight will be ashes in a hurry

The real question will be wether or not it turns out to be a drop, or a quest line end product. In the little grey book found in AV it hints at it being a drop found in fishing in a certain area.

It's going to be an multi-part quest series most likely starting with a drop off of Nefarious that takes you to the prince in DM, who will tell you most likely where to fish. To fish this however you will have to get a fishing line from the stranglethorn fishing extravaganza. The fishing location will most likely be in the plaguelands. (I'm willing to bet Northdale). You will fish up a sword of the scarlet commander and combine it with the item you got off of Nef to make Ashbringer

(These are my thoughts on the matter based off of the obscure references.)

Since Ashbringer is Blade of the Scarlet High Lord, have you done any research regarding Taelan Fordring in Hearthglen?

700 fire damage.. proc rate is still unknown.
