first off I'm not sure how many here follow baseball which I consider to be the church of the highest theatre.. and just following it is not enough.. as geography tends to play a huge factor since it is *completely* different here in the Northeast where our cities live and die with our baseball teams..
That being said.. it had to end like this. 162+regular season games comes down to 3.. The Ultimate rivalry, the last weekend. Yankees-Redsox, here we go again!
The thing that makes this extra special is that now we have context... everything that has gone down between these two clubs and cities for the past 3-4 years.. and every year thinking that it could not possibly be topped, or that they've reached the pinnacle and there's nothing else that can happen.. yet it does, and it keeps getting impossibly better
It had to end like this. To those who follow baseball, to those who follow the Yankees or the RedSox, SAVOR IT. There has not been in our lifetimes (least, not mine) a real true and pure pennant race like the one we're witnessing now.
Seriously.. I'm pretty sure our Bostonian guildies know what I'm talking about as Boston as well as NYC is ELECTRIC now. The buzz, excitement and energy are palpable and this is the time.. sit back, enjoy it.
Savor it for it's memories that will be around for the next 50 years. ^^
and oh.. GO YANKEES!
