I have roughly the same set-up as you, only a step down.
Some points from me if you care to read mate:
1) Get OCZ or Corsair XLS memory , I got the Corsair, same chips and they o/c like fukcers with very aggressive timmings as well. I have mates with OCZ and they o/c just as well.
I have had bad expirience with Mushkin, and Geil, but its a personal thing.
I always consider OCZ =1 , Corsair = 1.5 sort of, rest are class 2.
Get a 480+ power supply, SLI compatible ( you never know ), ATX 2.0 in other words. And get a named one imo.
A bad and cheap power supply does not give stable currents and in MANY cases is responcible for fucking up a system especially and o/c'ed one.
The mobo is a great choice.
For faster data acces, just get another drive and Strip them, the 10k ones are indeed great but hurt price wise, even now.
Considering the dual core, I would say it depends on your needs, I dont know when games will be available that will take advantange of it, I assume not long.
Worse case scenario sell the AMD and get one later on. They are chear in the 1st place.
Also, if you plan to o/c although they dont generate alot of heat, make sure you buy a good all-copper heatsink mate, and I am saying that now since most of the good/big ones, require a backplate that needs the mobo to be removed before installed, and it will break your balls to have to take the mobo out, after the pc has been assembled ( provided you get the sink later cause you observe a bit high temps ).
Something I just read a bit up.
The memory you get make sure its 2-2-2-5, so it will o/c alot and lose the timmings a bit ofc.
Anything else you need give me a shout.
