I dont think transferee's do as much as you think they do. SC has been like this for months, and the relativley small amount of people coming here is negligable.

Personally I havent noticed any further worsening of server performance since transfers opened. I doubt there will be any unless guilds en-mass transfer over.

No, transfers in and / or out will (and have had) no effect on this problem. It comes down to an overload (beyond the scope of any transfers in or out) of players at peak hours on hardware that is 2 - 3 years dated and designed for a smaller scale implimentation. Did you know the server that skullcrusher is on was actually old hardware used way back in beta? It just wasn't designed for handling the load we're putting on it. Keep in mind blizzard didn't really expect World of Warcraft to be as popular as it ended up being.

I dont think it's the amount of people. I've seen chinese servers with 10x the players and 0 lag.

Well, it is and isn't. The hardware used for skullcrusher, as well as (I'm sure) the server architecture (i.e. Clustered or unclustered, etc) is dated and not meant to handle the load. So really, yeah it is the amount of people on causing it, but only because the hardware is poorly designed. The server sucks and I'm surprised they kept a beta server active as a retail realm. Anytime you design a system to sustain X amount of users and it ends up having to support 4-5 times your projections you're going to have trouble. I'm glad its finally getting taken care of, I'm sick of being short sticked if ya know what I mean.
