Character Name: Longchamp
Character Class: Death Knight
Days Played: No clue, I'm at work, but I'd say probably ~15.
Days Played at 80: ~5
Alt(s): Destrolol, 80 Paladin. Have both healing and a tanking set for him.

--- General Information ---

1. Tell us a little about yourself: How old are you? Where are you from?

I'm 22 and from Boston.

2. What guilds (if any) have you been in? If so, why did you leave? If you are a server transfer, why did you pick Immo/Skullcrusher?

My pally is a Friends&Family over in Vindictive. I play on him whenever I am not raiding on my DK. My DK is on Mannoroth in a guild called Shadow Knights. They're a good group of people, but I'd like to be on the same server as my friends (Skullcrusher). I'd also like to raid competitively/organized.

3. What is the best way to contact you?

Try me ingame on either my DK or my Paladin... but also email or forum PM.

4. How did you hear about us?

I’ve been on/off Skullcrusher since start… Immo has also.

--- Raiding Information ---

5. Post your armory link. Post any info not available on armory.

http://www.wowarmory.com/character-sheet.xml?r=Mannoroth&n=Longchamp

Glyphs: Ghoul, Scourge Strike, Icy Touch.

6. Do you have Ventrilo and/or a mic to communicate with your prospective guild members?

Yes.

7. What are your computer specs and internet connection? Can you handle max graphic settings at a reasonable framerate in a 25 man raid?

Intel Q6600 OC’d to 3.2 Ghz. 4 Gb RAM. GTX260. Yes, I can handle max graphics. Comcast Cable internet.

8. What raiding experience do you have? What significant raid instances have you been in? List only the furthest you got in WotLK, BC, and Vanilla WoW.

Vanilla: Naxx.
BC: SSC (I didn’t play much, took a break).
WotLK: 3D Sarth.

9. Are you a Hand of A'dal or Champion of the Naaru?

Nope, this is a DK.

10. What is your schedule like? What times during the week can you raid? Our raid starting times range from 7:00pm-8:00pm EST and last until 12am midnight.

Monday through Thursdays, 7PM – 12AM, unless I post on the forums otherwise.

11. Please post up a link to a screenshot of your User Interface.

I primarily use 1-6 and Shift 1-6. Unholy Blight is keymapped to `.

Also, I use: Cooldowncount, Recount, Pitbull, Quartz, DBM, Omen, Bartender, Runehero, Grid, Clique, NeedToKnow.

12. If your house was on fire, and you were raiding with us, what would you do?

I like WoW and all, but not that much. I’d call 911 and peace the f out. No thanks on /rolling Undead IRL (too soon?).

13. General Comments about yourself to us.

My name is Allen and I live outside Boston with my girlfriend and dog. I’m a consultant in an economic/strategy consultancy and I’m in the Life Sciences practice. When I’m not playing WoW, I practice my fledgling guitar skills, chill with friends/girlfriend, drink craft beers and attempt to find new beer bars.

I’m looking for a raiding guild that is competent and filled with members who are willing to show up, even for progression nights.

After the patch I see myself going either Blood or Unholy 2H. I’d love to consider Frost as well but I’d need to read more theorycraft on that. It seems with current parses that Blood is the top contender at the moment on PTR.

Some things I’d like to work on for my character: Getting Hodir Exalted. I’m over the hit cap, so I’d like to replace some pieces of my gear. Best places to do that seem to be chestplate (off Sapphiron), belt (off Razuvious), Bracers (off Heigan), or Boots (off Maly25.) Also, could really use a Sigil of Awareness… but that is going to be 25 badges in 3.1.

Let me know if you’ve got any more questions. Thanks in advance for your consideration.

Gears look nice, seems knowledgeable.

I see your schedule as Mon-Thurs 7-12. While it looks good, come Ulduar, we will more than likely be raiding Sunday as well. Think you can make it up?

Other than that, I'll let the other DKs/Officers do the analysis.

The reason I didn't include Sunday was that I can't make it consistently... the weekends are typically reserved for my friends/family and I don't always play then.

Just two questions:

1) Do you have any WWS parses from say Patchwerk?

2) Do you know what spec you will be once 3.1 hits?

All of the WWS parses I had have expired (15 days). Shadow Knights doesn't run WWS for farm content.

I'll tell you that on a relatively slow kill (~3 minutes), I'm around 5400-5500 dps according to Recount.

Once 3.1 hits -- Like I mentioned in my post. I have not yet made my mind. All three specs are still up in the air on PTR. I've spent some time on the Ebon Hold dummy on the PTR, though, as Unholy. I don't feel like much is being changed -- perhaps a minor buff if anything.

At this point if I had to make a decision, I'd stay Unholy. The latest PTR screwed DRW and unless something changes, I'm still feeling that Unholy > Blood. I love the playstyle of Frost, but I think I need to read some more theorycraft on it to see if it's still under Unholy/Blood.

Everything looks good; a geared, knowledgeable player that likes progression and theorycrafting. Gives you an A in my book.

What are you going to have as your dual spec?

Is it going to be another DPS spec or would you consider making it a tanking spec on the off chance that a tank or two aren't there one night?

On that same note, do you know how to tank as a DK and do you have any gear accumulated for it?

For 3.1 Unholy, which glyphs will you be using?

Dual spec -- will likely be tank spec. I like to tank, but I haven't had a chance to tank yet, mostly because I don't have a respectable tank set. Right now I've got a few pieces I've managed to pick up in Naxx25 + 3 or 4 badge pieces.

To be honest my tanking abilities are based loosely around general tanking principals I picked up as a warrior (which I played in TBC). What I'd really like is to find a great DK tank and pick their brain for a little bit on strategies. Another good resource I've found is tankspot and also just sitting down for an hour or so and reading all the DK tank posts on EJ.com.

3.1 Unholy -- I like the fact that they've added a few new glyphs in this patch. Based off a spec of something like a 0/10/61:

Currently I have Glyph of Scourge Strike, Ghoul, and Icy Touch. I'll be keeping the first two and switching out Icy Touch dependent on my gear at that point in time.

Come 3.1, while I have my 4pT7 and the nice bonus runic power, I will be using Dark Death for the added DC damage. When I replace those pieces and lose the bonus, I'll be switching over to Glyph of Unholy Blight for the added uptime (2 casts per 60 seconds rather than 3 -- an extra DC per minute).

What about Glyph of Disease? If my DK continues to be Unholy (I'd like to go back to Blood, it fits my playstyle better) I was thinking about using that to keep my diseases up in case of bad SS Glyph procs.

Any thoughts?

Your 3.1 spec something like this ?

Looks solid. Let's see what Wru says.

Glyph of Disease is interesting... but think about this:

With GoD you replace one BS with Pestilence every 20 seconds.

With GoSS you replace one SS with IT + PS on average every minute or so (unless you have terrible RNG).

Given the actual damage loss when you replace those strikes is roughly the same, with GoSS it happens less frequently.

To be honest they're probably quite similar, but in my own playstyle I kind of the like keeping track of my runes/procs/RNG aspect of GoSS.

You misunderstood me slightly, I was talking about using BOTH GoSS and GoD. Makes it more like one BS replaced with Pest per min, which can be converted to a Death Rune from Blood Tap anyway.

App gets my vote, he knows his stuff.

Ah... I don't know about using both glyphs. You'd have to give up either Glyph of the Ghoul or Glyph of Dark Death/Unholy Blight... which I think on a DPS basis outshine the use of both.

However, if we had ONE DK with Glyph of Disease...all other DKs would benefit immensely from their diseases being auto-refreshed.

Also, I think this is a better 3.1 build.

http://ptr.wowhead.com/?talent=jZG0xZfMhILcdgcqMcsut

You give up 1 point in Necrosis (which in its latest incarnation kind of sucks because it doesn't dip into any of our modifiers, just a straight up 20% of whitedmg) for Bone Shield (20% dmg reduction is amazing, even for DPS.. and a flat 2% dmg increase is nice considering the ease of keeping it up). Also, I'm not quite convinced yet on the value of Ghoul Frenzy since it costs an Unholy Rune. The healing would be nice for Ulduar (I read that there is a ton of AOE going on in there)... but it seems way too situational. I'd have to read more theorycraft on this before I carve it in stone, though. But I would definitely definitely definitely pick up Bone Shield.

I also support this app.

I can't think of any feasible reason why you wouldn't be recruited, so I'd start preparing to transfer if you're really interested in joining.
